First Funds Limited (FFL) was established in 2003 as a manager of private equity/ venture capital funds focused on providing risk capital to small and medium scale enterprises. Between 2004 and 2008, First Funds managed over N6billion of First Bank’s reserve under the defunct SMEEIS programme, an initiative of the Central Bank of Nigeria. Following the discontinuance of the programme, FFL now concentrates on providing risk capital to medium-size companies in the late and growth stage.

As a wholly owned subsidiary of First Bank of Nigeria Plc, the biggest bank by market capitalization, FFL with a capital commitment in excess of N9billion aims to be the Private Equity firm of choice in Nigeria, providing risk capital to medium-sized enterprises while delivering attractive financial returns.
